Soon, its the end of my 5D4N Hanoi trip. We'll be flying back to Kuala Lumpur this morning, Departure at 9.20am from Noi Bai Airport.
Wake up really early in the morning, about 6.30am... the hotel kitchen is not even open yet thus the staff are only able to provide us a cup of coffee. No breakfast. We've arrange for the pick up to airport and he was on time. Thanking all the friendly staff in Hanoi Golden Plaza Hotel and there we hop on for return to the bustling KL work life.
It takes about 45 Mins to reach to Noi Bai Airport from the Hanoi Old Quarter. We're watching the sun set in the Toyota Innova and experience the crazy traffic and honking for one last time before leaving. Reaching Noi Bai Airport and we rush for the check in at the Air Asia counter. There was a long queue there and the counter staff really takes very very long time to serve all the checking in passenger... it took us about 1 hr to check in. Here i bump into Vai Kuan and her bf. We are coming and returning at the same flight.
Noi Bai Airport, Hanoi Exterior
The airline check in counter... Air asia has the longest queue
After checking in our luggage, Seh and Teh wanted to buy some snack since we didn't take any breakfast this morning, but me being smart and advice them we should go into the departures first and eat there... ha.... very good, when we entered to the departures hall, the second level of the airport are in renovation and all food outlets CLOSED!
No choice, we try to walk around duty free shops to scatter the hungry reminder our stomach keep on sending to us. What worsen the scenario is our flight was delay by 45 mins. Meaning we have to bear our hunger longer. There are no food and even mineral water for sale in the departure hall.... OMG... i'm going die... Sooooo regret to act smart just now to suggest to eat in the departure hall. I'll learn to be smarter next time, i'll make sure i'll hv sufficient time for makan before boarding a plane.
45 Mins delay means a decade for hungry waiting soul. Once got into the air craft, we proposed to change seat with a passenger and i changed to sit with mum, and even same row with Vai Kuan. Cursing real hard for the cabin crew who take their own sweet time serving the meals.
I ordered a fried rice and satay set while mum order chicken rice set. Everyone knows you shouldn't put too high expectation on flight meals. Just for filling purpose~!
Mummy's in flight meal : Chicken Rice
My In flight meal : Kampong fried rice with satay
KL Beneath!
I did my Hanoi trip on a shoestring budget... Less than RM900 inclusive of Flight ticket, hotel, tour, food and even shopping//
Flight ticket : RM289 (Return ticket get from the AA Free ticket promo.. still have to pay for fuel surcharge & admin fee)
Hotel : Hanoi Golden Plaza Hotel RM108 (3 Nights stay for twin sharing..)
Tour : Hanoi City Daily Tour RM84 (USD 22)
2 Day 1 Night Halong Bay overnight on Junk RM 165 (USD 43)
Transport to & fro Noi Bai Airport : RM 27 (USD 30 for a car of 4-5)
Meal : RM30 (Street Food are very cheap in Hanoi, and the tour does include meals)
Thanglong water Puppet Show : RM12 (60k Dong for 1st Class)
Shopping : RM 150 ( I got myself an Ao Zai, 3 Clothing, 1 Pair of sport shoes and many many more Vietnamese Coffee and Vietnamese Instant Noodle & Souvenirs also..
Vietnamese Massage : RM30 (USD for 1 hr.. though cheap, but not nice at all)
My total damage for a 5 Day 4 Night trip : RM895
Hanoi is not a shopping heaven, if you were aiming to grab some real steal of clothing in old quarter, unless you have a superb bargaining skill.. its always cheaper to get those in Malaysia and we are way more trendy. They do have some international branded but ITS SOOOOO EXPENSIVE… Nine West sold here are at least 20% cheaper than theirs when they put on 70% sale banner?!?!
